I maintain an open-source CLI called Release State Reconcile (RSR).
I built it around a maintenance problem I kept running into: when checking whether an Issue or PR belongs in a particular release line, the relevant public evidence can be scattered across the Issue/PR itself, checks, backport activity, release notes, and published releases.
RSR collects that evidence into a deterministic report.
It is deliberately read-only. It does not modify anything on GitHub and it does not decide whether a release should ship.
The project is open source, and I’m currently looking for feedback from people who actually maintain or contribute to OSS projects.
If you have a real public release or backport task, I’d especially like you to choose your own Issue/PR and release line and try RSR against it. I don’t want to select a convenient test case myself.
Useful output is welcome, but so are failed runs, mostly UNKNOWN results, misleading evidence, or simply “this didn’t help me.” Those cases are useful for understanding where the tool’s boundaries actually are.
Source and usage instructions are in the GitHub repository:

The repository also includes a public Trial feedback form for anyone who tries it on a real maintenance task.
