I think that depends very much on your choice of OS to be deployed in the Cloud’s virtualized instance.
If you share that choice with the Community, those with actual relevant experience will be able to respond with specific constructive feedback.

Regarding Cloud-based hosting, are you planning on building your own or do you plan to use an already established Cloud-based service? Microsoft (Azure), Amazon (AWS) and Google offer services; also there are categories of service.
The same is true of Cyber Security; maybe you can tell us both the cloud hosting service you intend to use and the cyber security approach (also vendor available) that you want to use.
I have no personal experience as a retiree in either area; like you, I could read about it, but I suggest you do so in order to answer our own questions that we have; maybe then a few of us may be able to actually assist you with our technical experience.
