Flatpack Failure when receiving data from the peer

I tried to update my flatpaks with the GUI and also with the CLI (flatpak update), the later gives the following error messages:

I tried to update for many days now and it always throws such errors, how can I fix this?

Welcome to our forums! :handshake:t3: That error means the download connection to Flathub is being reset. It’s almost always network-related, not a Flatpak bug.

Test with:

curl -4 -I https://dl.flathub.org/repo/summary
curl -6 -I https://dl.flathub.org/repo/summary
ping dl.flathub.org

If IPv6 fails, disable it and retry Flatpak.

Try to repair any partial downloads:

flatpak repair --user
sudo flatpak repair

After repairs, run flatpak update --appstream.

Turn off any VPNs and remove proxy env vars before updating.

If curl https://dl.flathub.org is unstable, Flatpak updates will always fail.

I checked:

Edit: You can also try changing your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 in network settings (just temporarily to test).

I try to avoid flatpak - currently zero flatpak.
But I often had the same error. After a few hours, it worked most of the time.

Welcome to our community Luke. Do you have an option to get the software you’re trying to get other than Flatpack? This is why I don’t use it too many bugs.
