Windows 11 vs Linux: A Year Later, I’m Switching Back

Ha. I also thought the same thing! Id did bother me. What was explained to me was that the emphasis is on Windows providing a subsystem whose purpose is to support Linux binaries.

It doesn’t bother me because I seldom (now that I’m retired) even bother to look or check in on the Windows stuff. Last time I touched it was because someone got another computer, wanted my opinion about it and the old system (and GAVE me the old system). I ran Windows just long enough to get all the information about the system, then reimaged the entire thing with a Linux configuration.

Great article!

I purchased a Windows 11 laptop a year ago and quickly grew tired of the spyware/keylogger “features” and recently dipped into the Linux world.

Among searching how to do anything(I am not a programmer, I’m a blue collar guy) I came along a list of printers that are compatible… Saw the authors name and was sent back to the late 90’s and early 2000’s. That is the sole reason why I picked my old, HS screen name. Cringe.

Hope to learn some things from here!

Welcome @slowasscivic. I hope you’re able to learn a lot here, and I also hope that you are able to show us a thing or two about a blue collar guy who can share their own experiences, which may end up opening OUR eyes to a few things we may have not considered until we read your experience and perspective.
