Hello @Thierry_H and welcome.
Greeting to Belgium from Germany
Welcome @Thierry_H
Love the intro—especially the Waterloo bit . You’ve definitely earned your stripes coming from Pascal and dBase IV.
Glad you landed here while exploring DeepSeek. There’s a solid crew around who’ve also made the switch from Windows to Linux, so you’re in good company.
Feel free to share what you’re trying to get out of DeepSeek in our General Discussions or your Linux setup and Deepseek project in Showcase when complete.
We are happy to bounce ideas around or help troubleshoot. Nice to have you with us!
Hi Billy,
Welcome to our humble little forum. So are you on Debian 12 or Trixie? we have a @Debian forum and your welcome to join us there. SCO Unix… reminds me of the company that tried suing companies because they were using copyrighted code. That was until showed who had the patents and where the code had been copy/pasted. Hopefully they got rid of that CEO and they are a better company now
Anyway welcome to us.

Hi James! Welcome to our forums.
Hi, I am pretty techie but I am new to Linux, I took my Windows 10 off computer and downloaded Linux Mint, and it is running good. My only problem is I downloaded the drivers for a Canon printer but unsure of the steps after extracting file and using the right command to get the file to run. I currently have the printer connected directly into computer but I want to use the wifi so it don’t have to be directly connected. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hey @Learning123 welcome aboard!
This is not the correct section for ask support, feel free to open a dedicated post in Linux Support channel

hi!
i’m p-house from wellington, NZ. I work in vfx here but mostly WFH. I stumbled upon this forum when looking to upgrade our home network to something a bit nicer and up to date…
I’ll try to keep my noob question to a low limit - but i do apologise in advance!
Thanks,
p-house
Hi @p-house and @mondalsurojit welcome!
I’m in the middle of trying to upgrade our home-office network as well. I posted that Home Lab article over 5 years ago. I’ve kept updating it with changes over the years.
However, this is the first major update. Where I’ve gone from 1G router/switch with 1G LAN ports… to 10G (SFP+) WAN and switch uplink and multigig ports LAN. Started keeping a log of it here.
I will be posting 3–5 articles about this experience. Looking forward to sharing and learning as much as I did the last time. Nice to meet you.
