This is about Bram Moolenaar and his vision for Vim, which came out of a frustration using Stevie, because it had a number of defects and shortcomings. Like my short reference to “Emacs For Writers”, this is another long video, but for historians interested in finding out exactly why Vim was created, when Vi and other editors already existed, this one does a good job of explaining it; rather than writing my own novel, I’m sharing with you a decent video that explains what not very many people know about the origins of Vim the text editor and Bram Moolenaar, the one who created Vim.
