The main problem that made me abandon Ubuntu was the focus management and the second monitor: it was impossible to play without the game freezing or crashing unexpectedly as soon as I tried to do anything in another window or on another monitor. I spent a week applying patches and workarounds to prevent these unexpected crashes when switching windows, but nothing really worked, and I had to go back to Windows. However, the new version with Wayland has completely eradicated this bug; now I can switch between screens, and the game continues to run smoothly in the background, without windowed mode tricks or complex terminal configurations. Despite being a preview version, this release fixes the multitasking/gaming disaster of the previous version, proving that if you have 16 GB of RAM and a mid-range processor and gpu, you no longer have to choose between playing a game (without being able to exit to change the music or video) or doing your homework.
(It seems like a silly problem, but not having to search for patches and apply them for something as simple as multitasking across multiple windows or monitors improves the user experience, which is why I recommend Ubuntu 26.04 for gaming.)
