Running windows programs in linux

I thought I would do a bit of gaming in ubuntu 26.04. tried prince of persia sands of time. Tried in bottles. But no success. Bottles of course runs some other windows based apps.
Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
Also could anyone recommend similar games which are native to linux ?

Well, to me it looks like Linux gaming nowadays is mainly about running Steam on Linux. Probably, that option is worth some consideration as well, as running arbitrary Windows apps on Linux. E.g.

When I do game I play old school DOS games and for me running games with nothing more than DOSBox and WINE using WineGui as gui frontend has worked for most of the DOS games I play.The linux GOG client MiniGalaxy works well for many games I play as well,this requires Wine and for DOS games also DosBox.

But as @ugnvs eluded to Steam seems to be at the foreground of Linux gaming these days.

@Ravi_E Hello there
Try wine + dxvk + ntsync build
ubuntu 26.04 has the Linux kernel 7.0 which is great startup
first type this command to enable ntsync module for gaming

echo ntsync | sudo tee /etc/modules-load.d/ntsync.conf

install wine
install dxvk on wine winetricks dxvk it handle dll overrides automatic
then wine the game it should run perfectly.
