@ricky89 solid plan, especially pulling EFI separately and keeping the external drive offline.

@MarshallJFlinkman your point about automation makes sense. Even a weekly cron with rsync or restic to a second drive (or cloud) could strike a nice balance with Ricky’s current “manual full image” approach.
@benowe1717 I liked your note on testing restores; too many of us make backups without verifying them. I’d add that rotating between two external drives could also reduce the single-drive risk that Ricky mentioned.
