Hey there all. New to Linux. Trying to get away from Windows with all the CoPilot vulnerability issues taking place. I’m looking at Bazite, since I love SteamOS so much. Anyone have any experience with this distro? I’ve tried it before and couldn’t find a fan control application that would work to slow down the speed of my fans. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

This depends on the make/model of your GPU and/or your motherboard.
For instamce, I have a AMD RX570 and the fans are controlled by the card.
(I wrote my own fancontroller for that)
Someone else on this forum has a Thinkpad where the fans are controlled by the BIOS, a ready made driver for that board exists.
I don’t know about nVidia because I dumped nVidia ages ago.
Show some info about your hardware (especially GPU) , maybe someone will chime in with some practical ideas.
You can use the command inxi -Fz
if the system responds with command not found, install it first and then try again.
You can post the output here (copy paste), select the whole texblock and use the </> symbol in the edit window to make it a bit easier readable.

I guess there might be some helpful responses if you do that.

Also another nice gaming distro, like Bazzite is:
Hi @Pandamonium83 and welcome to our community!
While I do not have specific experience with Bazzite, I have had good luck with CoolerControl on multiple distributions and hardware configurations.
You can check out their Hardware Support section to see if what you have may be supported, and you can check out their Install Docs where they have a ujust command for installing this application.
As far as I understand it, CoolerControl pairs with lm-sensors, so if lm-sensors properly detects your hardware, then CoolerControl gives you a great interface and good ability to configure your fan to work the way you need them to.
