Thanks for the welcome and the advice!

Thanks for the welcome and the advice! It seems like my own studies have been in the right area already based on your suggestions, which is great to see because I’ve found it easy to be unsure what to study so far. I haven’t met any peers who are into this stuff yet so getting involved in the community is a little exciting for me. I’ll be slowly checking out the site and hopefully jump in on some discourse as 2025 rolls on, looking forward to it!

 I’ll remember that! Very excited to see where cybersecurity takes me, meet some interesting people and check out a whole new job-scene. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello @Powder

Don’t worry, I’m also a BABY compared to some veterans in here, Btw I want to say I prefer this kind of envirionment rather then some Discord tech servers. Years ago I was in some: there were too fast replies, mostly of thems no-sense, and from my use experience is not a sane way to communicate. In here you can manage better your time and concentrate better for the best topic or reply to another user.

Anyways nice to have you onboard, welcome and can’t wait to see your replies in some hot content

 well wishes appreciated, thanks.

Thank you. You make a great point and I’d have to say I think I agree. I enjoy the environment of this web page so far compared to discord servers. Reminds me of how the internet felt to me years ago. Dungeon Master- “While making your way through the dense network of servers scattered across the internet you stumble across an interesting site, full of topics being discussed and people you’ve never known before participating in some lost practice of community. Do you engage?

This describes me and probably most of us here. :handshake:

There’s no massive demand for Linux forums out there, they are many. But I do miss the relaxed community vibe of forums, no banner ads between posts, no scolding members for not searching first, no frequent closing of topics because we get to decide when a “good” discussion should be over.

Instead more connecting, sharing, fellow kindness and learning at our own pace. I’ve learnt a lot of new things and tools from the members here.

This week, I’ll be posting in the Announcements category the road map for our community. Some pledges, as well as news about how truly a part of this community I would like everything to be. Stay tuned!
