Zorin 18.1 with my own Minecraft build as the desktop background. Nothing fancy or heavily customized. I like to stick to mostly the defaults.
This is also, unfortunately, a fresh install. My upgrade from Zorin 17.3 to 18.1 fell over pretty badly so I’m still working on getting back up to normal.
I will reply by pointing to my earlier submission in another post on this site! ![]()
Original Ubuntu without modification, I really like the noble theme, I like that default Crown wallpaper
Home server Ubuntu LTS with ESM enabled:
Very interesting smoke-like visual effects! ![]()
Wow, Your specs are monster, Intel core i9 14900k! My lord, that’s my dream CPU, with that CPU I can compile Rust very fast and all without lag!
Meanwhile:
@Jakarta2 I wonder how can you work with Gnome 50 on such low RAM and small screen

Because I am a very ambitious and patient person, I have a philosophy in my life: “If a device still works, stays stable, and runs normally, keep using it until it breaks and extract everything it can still offer.”
2GB RAM is still enough for me although obviously not for everyone, the CPU is very low and old, the GPU is also as low and old as the CPU
But, as long as it still works, there are no errors, I will continue to use it.
Marcel, given that you are getting acceptable response on such a restricted memory diet, would you be willing to share the full contents of your /etc/sysctl.conf file?
Yeah, but tomorrow, because I’m busy and there’s a power outage in my area later.
sysctl.txt (44.5 KB)
