How can I safely install Nvidia drivers from Linux Mint Debian Edition?

What GPUs are you using? Assuming Linux Mint uses the Nauvoo drivers you should only have to enable these in your sources.list file: main contrib non-free non-free-firmware, and Nauvoo should be able to run Nvidia. I can vouch for GTX 1080 (bridged) working with the out of the box drivers. I think newer cards need the nvidia-driver package(s).
I watched the videos from Hayden, follow the first one’s advice and install from the terminal, it should grab all the dependencies for you.
