30 Linux Terminal Emulators

I’ve made the addition of Contour. Thanks.

I’ve added 2 more Terminal emulators to the list:

  • Fyne Terminal – A graphical terminal emulator for Linux using Fyne.
  • Rio Term – a fast, GPU-accelerated, cross-platform terminal emulator built in Rust.

Alacritty – GPU-accelerated terminal emulator, focuses on performance and simplicity. - I’ve run into this a few times, mostly when I’ve been testing CachyOS, an Arch Linux derived distribution. No issues with it, but I didn’t find anything utterly special and “can’t do without it” feature either. Xfce terminal is fine if I am using a DE, particularly Xfce; otherwise something really basic, such as an ancient terminal called roxterm, is more than enough for me; I run commands frequently, and I have a large collection of alias definitions in the shell I use - bash - don’t need zsh or another fancy shell either because my use cases these days are pretty simple; so simple and nothing to change matters to me, and that’s my “use case” and justification for the way I prefer to operate.

@DavidP So, it’s been almost two years since you posted about using Tabby. I’ve been considering a new terminal and like what I see in Tabby. Care share about your experience since the post? Are you still using Tabby? Any regrets/cons? Or, maybe even more convinced it was the right path for you to take?
