I imagine this would be quite a nice entry point for people used to the Ubuntu ecosystem and want to try out Sway. It doesn’t look very daunting to me at least (as opposed to the usual raw, unconfigured tiling WM).
I guessing the previous post was before I became a member so I apologize for missint it. I didn’t really know what a tiling windows manger was all about so I did some research.
i3 A highly configurable tiling window manager designed for advanced users. Qtile Written in Python, it is configurable and extensible, making it user-friendly for developers.
So probably not for me. But here is a good article:
I use Sway on Fedora, and I was looking for a Sway installation based on Ubuntu. While the Sway Remix attracted me, there was something about the build that had caution flags being raised.
When I visited the GitHub page and looked at the issues and the installation wiki, I saw one or two things that stopped me from trying it out. One was the multi monitor issue. I use 3 monitors and there was a bug that seemed to be iffy. In the installation wiki, there were also configuration work around that didn’t seem necessary.
I will be honest, it wasn’t a proper evaluation, but with Fedora Sway working so well for me right now, I didn’t give it a proper try. Maybe I should.
