My Search for a new Desktop environment

hallo all,

I read this thread and it seems that everyone is searching for good wallpaper. I previously downloaded wallpaper from unsplash, pixabay or anything but that all are others clicked images with their names and i really dont like keeping someone clicked images as my wallpaper unless it is a person associated with me.

So have a look at this Wallpaper Images - Free Download on Freepik all images generated using DALLE and they are such gloss images and wallpapers and clicked by none and generated by computer.

Evening to you all from Germany,
Gaurav

This is a must for if you are handling any server based configuration: https://www.linux-assistant.org. If anyone has not used it then i would say give it a try then and it will help for sure.

Thank you,
Gaurav

You missed the top panel customization features of XFCE in the Panel Settings. You can change the position, size, and ordering of all the elements on the panel and you can also move the panel to whatever side of the screen you want.

So if you wanted the date to appear in the center of the top panel and wanted to change the ordering of the icons on the right end of the panel, it’s easy to do that.

I personally choose to have the panel running vertically down the left side of my screen with only an icon at the top to access the app menu, only icons for the opened windows, and the analog clock face at the bottom. No text date appears until I move my mouse pointer over the analog clock face.

Welcome to the community @CarlGWatts

The panel running vertically down the left side of the screen is especially a practical option for 16:9 aspect ratio displays.

Welcome @CarlGWatts, What did you do with the Bottom Panel or the App launcher? That was what I didn’t like about it, if I could lose that or modify it I’d keep using XFCE.

I removed the bottom panel using the Panel Settings page in the system settings. Besides allowing you to customize any panel, it allows you to remove whole panels or add new panels if you want.
