Hi
How to limit charging percentage on my Asus TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition to 80%?
I wanna prolong it’s battery life, for example if it always plugged to AC, not to make battery always stay at 100%
Maybe via Tlp? Or any other plug-in?

Welcome to our community @upio9 great to have you here!
First check the BIOS. Since you’re asking about Linux, tools like TLP or upower might help.
But to assist you better, could you provide the community more details?
• What Linux distro are you using? (Ubuntu, Arch, Fedora, etc.)
• Have you checked the BIOS for battery charge limit settings?
• What have you tried so far?
Let us know, and we’ll do our best to guide you!
Thanks
Linux Mint 22.1
Maybe I searched bad, but I didn’t find it
No. I am too afraid to mess something up.

If you’re use tlp try to config
/etc/tlp.conf
and set START_CHARGE_THRESH_BATx
and STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BATx
that will limit the charge on the percentage when to start/stop charging.
Hey @upio9 welcome to the community
I don’t think I know the solution, maybe you can try @Halano configuration, and let us know if is working for you as well.
I honestly never went into this, I never had this kind of problems. Just for say you my Laptop with Core I5 8000 series, almost from 2017 - 2018, it’s battery is working very great. When I work with the Laptop I use to toggle off the AC power, then, when it’s battery is low at almost 5%, I use to plug in the AC power.
This PC is equipped with Microsoft Windows (for work needings) but since when I own it I never had a problem, the battery is working like the first day … or similar. A full charge is almost 3 hours - 3 hours half working with Visual Studio code.
