Cant get numbers(part of password-Logictech Kboard) in sudo requiremt

Hello Linux Comm, my first post for HELP… I followed directions to enter sudo to activate something for dpkg and got to the step that asked for password. Unfortunately my kBoard does not have number pad nor num-lock/unlock. So i tried all ways to type in my required password but the nos (part of the password would not show) and i cant move forward to update the OS. Please help - much appreciation.

Welcome to posting. :handshake:

It sounds like your top-row number keys might not be working at all, not just hidden input. If that’s the case, try switching to a different keyboard if you can, or boot into a live USB session and reset your password to something without numbers, just to get past this step. Let us know what device and distro you’re using, could help narrow it down.
