Another distro joins the MATE desktop as the default**:**

The NetHydra project has published a new update of the Debian-based distribution. The latest version includes a handful of new tools and enables running as the root user by default. "In this update we decide to make MATE as the default desktop for NetHydra (for SONAR it would still be using Xfce), classic and technical feel.

MATE is the best desktop (in my opinion)

I’ve used MATE a lot over the years. Have they gotten Wayland support sorted out?

No real Wayland support as of yet.

A shame, it’s getting harder to find distros that don’t default to wayland
