Hello everyone, I’m currently building a small Linux distribution called Zyphor OS, which is based on Debian and uses the default Kali Linux build scripts as a starting point, but it is still very early and far from finished.
I am still a beginner and self-taught developer, and I created this project mainly to learn how Linux systems and distributions are built internally.
I know I still have a lot to understand, so I am humbly sharing it with the community in hopes of receiving feedback, guidance, and corrections from more experienced developers.
If anyone is willing to take a look at my Github or give advice on improving structure, build process, or best practices, I would be very grateful.
Welcome to the forums @markjason Sorry about the delay in getting you approved. When someone shares a project, we take a little extra time to review things and verify that you are the project owner before it goes live, just to keep the community safe for everyone.
Keeping an eye on this. Stared it for now. Try to get listed on https://distrowatch.com/ once annouced there you’ll get most users who love testing and trying out new distros.
Thanks! That’s a great point. I’m still in early development, but getting Zyphor OS on DistroWatch is definitely one of my goals once it’s ready for a wider audience.
