Welcome! Please introduce yourself

Hi. I first used Unix in late 70’s on pdp 11 computers when all one received from Bell labs was a tape and a good luck. When linux came along I tried it out, but mostly stuck with windows because that was dominant os. Recently I was given a machine with trixiepup64 which prodded me to renewed interest in linux and hence here.

I’m a retired truck driver. I’ve played with computers for a long time and I just want to simplify everything. I bought a used Asus Zenbook to load Linux.

Hello System, Craig here from Western Australia. Want to setup a 4 or more Computer Network with Debian and MX Gnu/Linuxes to distribute my Content on it with the Various Servers and Daemons. Sendmail, Apache, SSH, NFS, SAMBA, DHCP, Monkey Web Server, etc, etc. That’s the Goal.

Welcome to the Community!

Do you mean 4 computers/servers on a shared backbone which goes thru a common router/gateway to the Internet?

Are they each individually and directly accessible from the Internet, or are services on 3 of those passing thru the 4th which is acting as a gateway for outsiders to reach their services?

As it happens, if you drilled a tunnel, straight down thru the earth to the opposite side, you would come out “within arms reach”!

I would encourage you to review the following discussions to help put a framework around your “adventure in Linux-land”!

As for asking questions, never hesitate!

The Community was conceived, from the outset, to be welcoming to all who seek knowledge and learn the skill-sets that are specific to the Linux world.

If you come discover that your window edge “grab-zone” is too small for your liking, the following is a full discussion around that topic and what the experts were recommending, for MATE.
