We experienced a severe flood of spambots and spam posts last week. To resolve, we had to restore a backup. Unfortunately, we lost a few threads/posts and about 10 users who signed up.

That sucks, good that there was a backup.
Did you also add bot protection, like Discourse Akismet?
Iām trying it in my home lab right now, together with Discourse Solved.

Installed it. Thanks. Use it on the blog but only now starting to have spam issues in the forums. Hopefully it solves.
