On Windows it is possible to manipulate a USB to connect as secure manner to recognize the owner. It is from security things to know that you are real owner of Windows profile. Does Ubuntu implements such option? Means with USB you could make it as manner to approve your connection? Or it is not yet implemented until now?
There is no direct equivalent to the USB key security for login as found on Windows. There are walk arounds though that you can use to get the job done.
You can use LUKS to encrypt some partitions or the whole of your disk. A USB key can now be set as the key for unlocking the encryption. And it would require it to always be physically present for access to be granted.
