The weekend is a great time to tinker, so here are the projects, setups, and ideas worth diving into over the next couple of days.

:new_button: New in Showcase

  • RayMothFM (Next-gen file manager) by @Halano
    A speed-focused graphical file manager with raylib UI, multi-tabs, built-in archiver, image viewer and converter, checksum tools, and libvips-powered thumbnails, ideal if you want a keyboard-heavy explorer that feels closer to a power tool than a stock file browser.

  • Simple thermo-hygrometer using an Arduino Micro by @andreas
    A small Arduino project that reads temperature and humidity from a DHT20 over I2C and prints to a 16x2 LCD, with a writeup and photos that are perfect if you want an approachable weekend hardware build.

:wrench: Active & Updated

  • RayMothFM (Next-gen file manager)
    Version 2 is out with xz compression support, bug fixes, new features, and desktop integration work that makes it more suitable for distro packagers and daily use.

  • Kubernetes Homelab
    @toadie added a fourth Raspberry Pi to the cluster and shared more on the tooling side, including k9s for Kubernetes plus oxker and lazydocker for Docker monitoring, which is great reference material if you are scaling a small lab.

:desktop_computer: Desktops, Rices & Setups

  • @andreas shared their setup with a darker blue wallpaper and JetBrains Mono as the system UI font, a clean and minimal look that really lets the text-driven interface stand out.

  • @hydn shared their setup featuring a blue Darth Vader themed wallpaper paired with global dark mode, tuned so window borders and gaps remain clearly visible against the background.
