Trying to demystify some rather terse commands can be a problem. Two are the du
and df utilities. Why struggle when you can get lightweight command line helpers like
'duf' and 'dusty'. They help relieve the brain-drain if you are command-line commando,
like me.

Out of habit, I like using ncdu.

@hydn @superuser1955 some of the distro lack the ncurses so run this and get the ncurses development libraries

sudo apt-get install lib32ncurses-dev and then the ncdu will work well
