Saturday Showcase: Built & Shared by Members This Week

A fresh weekend is here, which makes it a perfect time to grab a drink, spin up a VM, and try out what folks have been quietly crafting and polishing.

:new_button: New in Showcase

  • Brought a couple Cachy apps to the arch masses - scx-manager & kernel-manager by @MadGoat
Forked, unbranded, and extended versions of CachyOS’s kernel and scheduler managers for Arch systems, with detailed docs and support for custom Cachy kernels and SCX schedulers so you can tune your desktop or server without hand rolling every command.

  • DeLinuxCo ISO release - 260911 by @DeLinuxCo
A new Arch-based DeLinuxCo Cinnamon ISO built around Linux kernel 7.2.3 with a strong focus on AppImage workflows, including 30+ AppImages that can be installed and removed directly from the package manager for a portable, distro-agnostic app stack.

:wrench: Active & Updated

  • Just asking for a little feedback on what I can do better
The thread’s career and portfolio discussion now includes a concrete walkthrough of using a Kali VM with OpenVAS in three different network positions (DMZ, server segment, VPN mesh) to compare vulnerability visibility and firewall behavior in a homelab.

:desktop_computer: Desktops, Rices & Setups

  • @MrJ shared their setup
A bold cyberpunk themed Arch desktop with a custom background that leans into neon styling for a lively tiling environment.

:sports_medal: New Member of the Month

  • Congratulations to @DsturbD for earning New Member of the Month, and for jumping right into the community after decades of Linux use.
  • Congratulations as well to @Aneesmohammedalpy, whose curiosity about Linux distros is already adding fresh energy to discussions.

If you have something you are hacking on or a desktop you are proud of, drop it into Showcase or the desktop threads so everyone can explore it before next Saturday’s update.
